THE LITTLE BIPEDS

The compsognathus, from the Compsognathidae family, is a small carnivorous high about a meter who lived 155 to 150 million years ago. This biped had long hind legs as well as an even longer tail essential to his balance when he was moving. His long, thin hind legs allowed him to reach a maximum speed of 64 km/h. His name, which means "delicate jaw," comes from his narrow, long head ending in a slender snout.

THE LITTLE BIPEDS

The velociraptor was a small carnivorous biped. His name means "agile thief". Possessing powerful jaws, he measured 1.80m long for a height of 1.20m, and a weight of 15kg. He was armed with a very effective weapon: one of his toes had a huge claw. His tail helped him to balance himself when he stood up to stab his prey. The velociraptor was not very big but was a smart and fast runner! For the big prey, he attacked in band.

THE LITTLE BIPEDS

Paleontologists had suspicions about the existence of feathers covering the body of this small carnivore living 85 million years ago in Mongolia and China. It is now confirmed: the Velociraptor had feathers. Even if they were not enough to fly, they allowed him to regulate his temperature according to his environment. Related to the birds, this biped has been reproduced with great detail by PAPO. Its lower jaw highlights a very powerful jaw with about 80 sharp teeth. The retractable claw of each hind leg and its rigid tail allows it to stand up while keeping the balance.

THE LITTLE BIPEDS

Oviraptor, whose name means "egg-thief", was a small bipedal dinosaur that lived in the late Cretaceous. It is supposed to be carnivorous and amateur of eggs that he had to break with his toothless bill. This alert-looking dinosaur was about 2.5 meters tall and had a long crest on top of his head. Its large orbits suggest a sharp view and a great vivacity. It seems that the body has been completely covered with feathers.
